On which wall types can i install a STAS rail? Can i install the rail an a plaster wall

The STAS rails can be installed on just about all wall types. The only exception is glass. Concrete / Brick walls – can be achieved using provided plugs and screws. Timber walls – can be installed just with the screws. Plaster / Partition walls – can be installed with butterfly plugs for plaster walls. If you are at all unsure if the system can be successfully installed please don’t hesitate to get in touch – we would be happy to advise you.

Can I cut the rail lengths to the size I require?

Yes, the rail can be easily cut to size using a hacksaw or a machine saw. Remove any burrs after sawing (to avoid scratching the rail lacquer). You may work with us to arrange for the cutting and correct installation of the rails if required.

Once installed, can I later remove the rail easily?

Absolutely. The best way to remove the rail from its clips is to use a screwdriver. Wrap a piece of cloth around the screwdriver head to prevent damage to the rail. Place the screwdriver at the bottom of one end of the rail, between the rail and the wall and carefully move the screwdriver upwards, pulling the rail loose from its installation clips. Once you have made a start, you can gently loosen the rail by hand. Typically you will find it is very easy to slide the rail on and off the screws despite the fact the system is very secure when in place and with works hung.

This depends on the type of rail you have chosen, the weight you wish to hang from the rail and the look you prefer.
